Adventures in The Canadian NorthWest

24 Hours of Light Mountain Bike Race June 25th-26th was a blast.
Andrew and I managed to complete 24 laps. Each lap was about 13km and we switched every lap the entire time except for a 30 minute mutual sleep at about 3:30am.

The toughest part of the race was two fold. My last really dark lap from about 1am to 2am. I didnt see a single racer and it was dark enough to give me the spooks. The second was getting up from a 1.5 hour nap to ride at 4am on my mtn bike. I hated everything about life for about a good 10 minutes until I was on my bike and riding. It is humorous looking back but I don't think too funny especially for Andrew at the time.

My favorite moments were coming in at midnight from a lap and there being hot chili, Andrew, Colleen, and David at the finish line!

We managed to win the 2 person team category and not be too far off from the 8 person and 4 person teams. Check out the article about us in the Whitehorse Star.
